Accepting Your Azure Active Directory Invitation

Overview

Before you can access the eCatalog Administration Portal, you must first accept your Azure Active Directory (AAD) invitation and set up your secure login. This process links your email address to your Azure account and configures multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security.

Step 1 — Receive the Invitation Email

  • You will receive an Azure Active Directory invitation from Mtec Cloud Solutions at the email address provided to your organization.
  • The email will be sent from Microsoft Invitations or Mtec Cloud Solutions.
  • The subject line will typically be:

Action Required - Mtec Cloud Solutions LLC  - Collaboration Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).”

  • Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see it.

Step 2 — Accept the Invitation

  1. Open the email and click “Accept Invitation.”
  2. A browser window will open and redirect you to Microsoft’s sign-in page.
  3. Sign in using the same email address where you received the invitation.
    • If you don’t have an existing Microsoft account linked to this email, you’ll be prompted to create one.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete account creation.

Step 3 — Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To secure your account, Microsoft requires multi-factor authentication. This ensures that even if your password is compromised, your account remains protected.

3.1 Install the Microsoft Authenticator App

    • On your smartphone, open your App Store or Google Play Store.
    • Search for “Microsoft Authenticator”.
    • Download and install the app.

Important: Always use the Microsoft Authenticator app, not your phone’s camera, when scanning the QR code.

3.2 Configure the Authenticator App

    1. On your computer, after signing in, you’ll see a prompt to set up additional security verification.
    2. On the setup page, select “Mobile App” as your authentication method.
    3. Choose “Receive notifications for verification” (recommended) or “Use verification code.”
    4. Click Set Up.
    5. A QR code will appear on your screen.

3.3 Scan the QR Code

    1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.
    2. Tap Add Account → Work or School Account.
    3. Use the Authenticator app’s built-in scanner to scan the QR code displayed on your computer.
    4. The app will confirm when your account has been successfully added.

3.4 Complete Verification

    1. Once added, the website will send a push notification to your phone.
    2. Approve the request in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    3. MFA setup is now complete.

Step 4 — Sign In for the First Time

    1. Go to your vendor-specific Admin Portal URL.
    2. Enter your Azure email and password.
    3. Approve the MFA request in your Authenticator app.
    4. Once authenticated, you’ll be redirected to the eCatalog Administration Portal dashboard.

Step 5 — Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Didn’t receive the invitation email?

    • Check your spam/junk folder.

Authenticator app isn’t working?

    • Make sure you installed the Microsoft Authenticator app, not a third-party app.
    • Ensure you used the app’s built-in QR scanner, not your phone’s camera.
    • If you changed phones, you may need to reset MFA — contact support.

Forgot your password?

    • Follow the password reset process.
